Bringing a slice of Vegas to Glanmire

Less than two weeks to go until our big Vegas night, in association with The Bank Casino, and excitement is brewing! We have so much planned for the night and it will undoubtedly be great fun for all that are involved! The Bank Casino are decking BK2 out with all the necessary equipment to get the bar looking just like a Vegas casino! There will be roulette tables, blackjack and poker played on the night. As well as this, we will also have the champagne flowing, with table service and live entertainment from the amazing Ronnie Costley. Ronnie will be setting the mood with all our favourite classics from Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, not to mention Elvis and Neil Diamond!

It’s shaping up to be an fantastic night and we hope that Lady Luck is on your side and that you not only leave with a great casino experience, but with an extra bit of cash in your back pocket! We are looking for the next big band!!

We are in the middle of big plans for Arthur's Day 2012, and we can now confirm that J90 will be rocking out in BK2 until the early hours of the morning! In conjunction with this fantastic event, we will be giving one band the opportunity to support J90 in Bk2 on the 27th of September! We want to showcase some of Corks amazing talent and the competition is open to all bands!

So if you think your band has got what it takes, be prepared to battle it out! All entrants will have to perform head to head in an attempt to impress our judges and bag the top prize in our Battle of the Bands Competition. All bands must sign up before next Wednesday 8th August 2012, that’s exactly one week away! So what are you waiting for? Sign up today!

August Bank Holiday @Bk2

It’s only Monday and we are already counting down the days to the August Bank Holiday weekend! The last two weekends have been mental and we have loads lined up for this weekend and we are looking forward to seeing you all again! Following on from the success of our 10th Birthday Celebration and our Charity Auction last weekend, we anticipate that BK2 will be rocking this Friday right through until Monday.

Our Charity Auction in aid of the Glanmire Flood Relief Fund was entertaining to say the least! The women battled it out to bag their favourite males, and we even had some lovely ladies putting themselves up for auction last minute to help raise further funds for flood victims! A big thank you to all involved, and all those who donated so generously on the night. We will have a full write up of the night's events, as well as the total amount raised coming soon, so watch this space!

Friday 3rd August: Coin Toss- Heads or Tails? Win your round again, if you guess right!
Saturday 4th August: Kieran Kramer Band from 10pm

Sunday 5th August: Music from 6-8pm with Jamie Stanton. PJ the DJ on the decs from 9.30pm ‘til late.
Monday 6th August: Open music session from early ‘til late.

Bk2 Olympic Competition!

At Bk2 we wanted to create a pool for our customers to make the Olympics a little more interesting! After much(ish) deliberation we came up with Ladies volleyball! Indoor volleyball that is. So basically we have attached a number to each team (1-12) and whatever number you pick is the team you get. Simples! There are 12 teams so the first 12 to reply to the post will be entered.  The last ladies standing are the winners! And for the lucky customer who wins we have on offer a reserved area in Bk2 with a round of cocktails to help start your night plus a few more prizes! So get picking your number and the best of luck! If someone else has picked your number we will let you know. When all the numbers have been picked we will let everyone know what country they have.

Bk2 Auction Night in aid of the Glanmire/Meadowbrook Flood Relief Fund

First of all we would like to thank everyone for joining the celebrations for our 10th Birthday over the weekend, what a night! Those who attended had a celebrity style entrance, we rolled out the  red carpet and individuals were greeted with champagne and cupcakes. Photographs were then taken in front of a specially customised Bk2 backdrop upon arrival. Our party kicked off at 8pm and it wasn’t long before the bar was full with everyone enjoying music from The Full Irish followed by rocking tunes from PJ the DJ. It was certainly a fantastic way to spend the night after a day of serious sunshine and a great night was had by all!

So what do we have planned next? A male auction? Sure why not! We have recruited some handsome males who are willing to put themselves up for auction and all for a fantastic cause! All proceeds for our charity male auction will go to the Glanmire/Meadowbrook Flood Relief Fund, so start saving for the weekend ladies and make sure you get the man you want! All couples will be treated to a complimentary dinner date! If your motive for offering your money is more of a charitable gesture rather than bidding for a romantic night with one of our men on offer (no offence lads!), then you are free to take the meal for two for yourself and that special someone!

There will also be other prizes, besides our hunky males, up for grabs on the night. We will be hosting a raffle for three bar tabs for Bk2 up to €90 euro as well as plenty of other prizes to be announced! Bk2 will also be fuelling you for the night with delicious finger food, all on the house!
